Description

The image uses the lightball in an outdoor setting. The terrain was made in terragen, textures, shot from the top for a tex map, and exported as a VistaPro .bin, and a .lwo which I didn't use. Also in terragen I created an .hdr of the scene from a plugin called SOPack, and did ad large a render as I could on my unregistered version to hopefully use as a sky map....not big enough as it turned out. In HDRShop i made the Arnold file and saved to my lightball dir. In VistaPro i loaded the .bin, textured it with maps not procedurals, saver the tex map as a tga and a pcx, and the terrain as a .dxf. Imported into Imagine, added a water plane with procedurals, ripples and fracbump.filtered, filter distance 30.... IOR 1.33. Tweaked the maps a bit in PhotoShop, added noise and some distortions . Added all the maps and morphed tween em till I had something I liked. Added a sphere with the terragen render on it and it fit but was too lo res so scrapped it in favour of Imagine's clouds.itx Loaded the lightball created from the arnold terragen .hdr and rendered....for 10 hours...I got this.... comments welcome..thax for stopping by

You have done a lot of work for this picture, using many programs and techniques ! It looks like a place for meditation. Nice picture.

Wow, Bobby - you really do have too much time on your hands, lol... but the result is lovely! My only suggestion is that the lighting on the left most tree is very white, and it's source doesn't seem consistent with the lovely sunrise. Perhaps a bit of angled back lighting in a nice cranberry mauve? Regardless, it's all very pleasant!

Tien,...that tree has an ambience map I forgot to turn off and was gonna post it down but wanted a "pure" example of what comes from terragen's hdr plugin thru thr lightball utility. Manu,...the whole thing only took a few hours of rendering and testing, with conversions going fairly fast as a rule...total tome fron idea to finished render would be around 16 hours...not to shabby. SB,....thanx very much....all the others as well...appreciate the feedback...

yep, very complicated way to make a terrain. Everybody has his own protocol. Here I like the way the water connects realistically with the ground, at least in the foreground. But the sky color, hmm, I cannot say it fits well unless, wait a minute...is it on Mars ?
