Victims Of Noise at home in Golders Green, London, 13th June 2004 L to R: Jut (Justin Bonshor/guitar+vocals), Sally (Dave Hallan/drums), Idge (Ian Bonshor/bass+vocals) Nikon Coolpix 4500 - only postwork is retinting and cropping in Photoshop 7 My long-time friends VON asked me to visit them at their new home in Golders Green and take new photos of them for promotional material. Whereas the three shots I posted previously marked an attempt at capturing movement and atmosphere outside in the dark, this indoor session conducted at their home was a concession to "normality" (whatever that is) in posed and semi-posed shots. I still aimed to be spontaneous and not strive for absolute perfection, working as quickly as possible. Thanks for your feedback and critique... and thanks to VON for great company and hospitality! Splendid, Jim! I love these. I love the light, the contrasts, and tthe grayscale levels, brightness.. all! Somehow my fav of these three photos is the one of Sally's ... there is something so instantaneous, momentary that it's near perfect to me:-) Thanks for sharing:-)

oh yeah... now i can make them out in their spontaneity, like the diagonal heads on either side... the middle taking his pulse? nice shadows too... play on! :]

Like the lighting and the deep contrast, not forgetting the type. Would look impressive as heavy glossy prints.

I think you have achieved your objective Jim, three nice captures. You have handled the lighting well with no really hard dark shadows, the catch lights in the eyes work well making all the portraits alive and bright, great expressions from the menacing to friendly. If anything spoils it for me its the background, I just keep thinking bed sheet. :0 )
