Description

Matronaut Syl pauses on the way to investigate the wind ripple patterns of the chasma sand dunes to check out an intriquing rock. You can't see any cliffs because they are fifty to hundred miles away in either direction. Mars may be a small planet, but it has really, really big canyons or chasma. The MR5 is off in the distance to the upper right, but is hidden by the dust being stirred up by a new front. Thanks for looking! Jeremy

Hope that isn't a sandstorm coming in with that new front. Awesome artwork!

Thanks, everybody, for your remarks. They are the kind that one always hopes for. No major dust storm, zoku01. Just an average nice day on Mars. Otherwise, Syl would be racing for the Mule. The dust on Mars is about the consistency of talcum powder, so it is very light and fine. It doesn't take much to stir it up. In this case just a light breeze at the head of the front. Things should settle down in an hour or so.

Supurb as always. Your concept of Mars impresses me as being much like a real photo. All of the detailing is really great. I could easily immagine taking a drive on the mule ... Syl can drive - I just want to look. All that neat new country and no one has to open the gate. WOW! :-) Her suit is well detailed also. I immagine keeping the faceplate clear of the dust would be tough - or does the suit have an anti-stat device to repel dust from surface contact? Lighting is perfect. Thank you for another great start to a day; wish I was there. Dwayne

Dwayne, the suits have an anti-static device. Otherwise, they would have a tough time keeping it cleaned off. Same with vehicles. That talcum powder-sized dust would get into everything, housings, instruments, piping, you name it. Jeremy
