Description

Inspired by a gallery painting, this was put together with what I had. I would rather have a smooth clean bottle with smooth clean glasses but I just had to make do with what I had handy. After about 60 different pictures, this one had the most astheticly pleasing light and composition. It's a bottle and a brandy glass over a white sheet. It is lit with a window with the blinds almost all the way down. The liquid is 3 parts yellow food coloring with one part red to enhance richness and appear more golden. The grapes are fake. -Enjoy. . .and don't drink too much Brought to you by Monkey Slappers Anonymous

The glass shows the window and the door. But i like the bottle. Beeing not-perfect adds a lot of nice reflections. To me, this looks real good.

Stupendous shot....!! he has some shines and spectacular transparencies...!!! the reflections on the glass and the liquid are very well achieved....!!! the light coming from behind to about 45 degrees from the objects is of great softness...!!! the light entering for the window and for that that as I find (I can make a mistake), this taken place by a softbox it produces an encircling light and of great quality...!! the colors are of great realism....!!! vote

It may be all an illusion, but i prefer to think it's the finest wine and grapes around :)

Nice still life. Wrong color for absinthe, however after drinking, most colors look different. Really like how you did the lighting.

They sell pictures like this as posters here and people hang them up in their kitchens. If I knew the address of the company I'd give it to you and you could make lots of money, but unfortunately I don't have it. What a fabulous picture. Thanx for doing all that work (and telling us about it as well).

No, it's the surreal link. The missing glass is invisible in this dimension. And now my question: Isn't absinthe supposed to be more greenish and opaque? ;) But I'm glad you chose the amber liquid. Excellent still-life compo and perfect shot! There's so much texture and reflections in it, can't stop looking at it. :)

Agree with Misha and Beka , Absinthe is green , and turns cloudy when water is added . Great pic however . Nice work .

Well I wasn't sure what color absinth was since my first exposure to it was in Coppola's Bram Stokers Dracula. It appeared to be like a chardonnay which is what I changed the name to now. :) Thanks all for the help n guidance.
