Description

Captured way back on 10/13/2006, at the beautiful Fullerton Arboretum in beautiful Fullerton, California. There's some strange stuff going on out there, that is, if you bother to look. And the roots remind me of yams. Best viewed full size.

Love how they have large roots above ground.

oh yeah---those roots look like yams alright; and also like big bulbous thighs, and big overfed snakes...Love that you caught just the bottom of this ficus-looking beast, the trunk---which is very muscular---leads us down to those big, fat, overfed turnips/yams/knotted muscles. And you gave a lot of soil, to keep it primal. (The first shot? It looks like the tree is about to sprint! "On your marks, get ready...") You DEFINITELY don't see these beasts in Chicago! Love the captures. You got some primal stuff out there in SCal....

That is one wicked looking tree.... Looks like it belongs in the Old Forest in Lord of the Rings...

Great pair of captures, Harry!
