Description

Ok, here we go, this is what I have put together so far for the BlackGas (http://www.blackgas.com) anim. Going for a soft/cartoony look. Obviously everything built in Imagine. While I am still at this early stage, interested in what you guys have to say.

The main action is all outdoors. Some of the shops further up the street will have little things going on inside. We have an almost complete script, missing a couple of action scenes but nothing major. The hedge is looking for a map at the moment, know where it can get one? :)

Personally I'm very keen on procedural textures so a rough texture in conjunction with a fine jersey pattern so that there are some holes in it via the filter. (Was playing with hedges in Imagine myself over the last few days!) Of course given the simple look you seem to be after maybe going for a simple pebbled soft plastic durface might look fine. BTW looking good so far.

We are going for realistic looking textures and then applying a few filters to cartoon them up a bit

I like the style. Maybe shear also the roof, or make one higher than the other to break the symetry. I don't like the wall at the side of the stairs. IMHO, half circle shape stairs would be in the right style.

Roof etc have now been sheared, cheers Manuel. One of the houses that I built for this had half circle shapes for the side of the steps. Unfortunately nobody actually like that house. :)
