Description

As a prominent manufacturer of tractors and heating units after World War II, Lamborghini was an enthusiastic owner of sports cars. He became a Ferrari enthusiast. However, he had recurring clutch problems with his Ferrari, and eventually brought his complaints to Enzo Ferrari. Ferrari insulted Mr. Lamborghini, effectively stating that a tractor manufacturer was not qualified to criticize his Ferraris. Insulted by Ferrari's reaction, Lamborghini began to repair his clutch himself, at which point he noticed that some of the clutch components were the same as the ones he used on his tractors. Encouraged by the discovery, Ferruccio Lamborghini called upon the talents of Giotto Bizzarrini, Gian Paolo Dallara, Franco Scaglione and Bob Wallace, who worked on what Ferruccio envisioned as his grand tourer to rival Ferrari. The result would eventually become the Lamborghini 350GT and the founding of Lamborghini in 1963. The 350GT was followed by the 400GT. Profits from the 400GT and its predecessor gave the company ample capital to design its first sports car, the Lamborghini Miura. The chassis of the new Miura was introduced by Ferruccio himself at the November 1965 Turin Auto Show. The car's engine was transversely mounted and designed by Marcello Gandini, from Bertone Carrozzeria. It is named after the Spanish ranch Miura, whose bulls have a proverbial attack instinct. I have modified from A to Z an ancient model of mine made for Vue to be used in Poser. Looking backward, my "old" models don't seem perfect. Poser is far more exigent than Vue and my models are far more detailed. Modifying models that I had made 5 or 6 years ago need as many hours to be modified than the original to be created! Special dedication for Mike, Maxidyne on RR, a very talentuous user of Octane who likes the Miura and for Michele, DocMikeB on RR, a very good modeler living in the country where most of the best car designers are born.

Ah, at last the progenitors of the Countach! Yeat another great model (my virtual garage is filled to the rafters with your earlier models, but I'll manage ;-). Thank you! And if/when the Espada will be spotted over the horizon I'll buy it straight-away!

Thank you so much Alain, this is truly a work of art and of course in the 3 best colours this beautiful car should be seen in. Thankfully Enzo Ferrari was not gifted in the public relations department and because of this we have had some wonderful Lamborghini's. Give me a Miura over any Ferrari any day. Lets be honest, there have been some remarkably talented car designers over the years and more than a fair share of them have been Italian. Thanks my friend, you too are a very talented man.

best image out of the 3 for me is the last one.... Maybe cause it's close to that florescent green color that is my favorite.... when I was a kid, I was asked what my favorite color was, I'd say black.... people would laugh and say black isn't a color - lol... An Art teacher tried to tell me green was my favorite color, I didn't think so... as I got older, I realized green has always been my favorite color.... it could also be the last image looks like my favorite hot rod - the vet.... great to see some hot rods come out of your modeling garage.

Au-delà du fait que je sois complètement scié par ton talent, cette beauté fait remonter des souvenirs enfouis...du Rallye du Mont-Blanc où un participant était arrivé à Annecy avec un tel monstre ! Donc grand bravo et merci...

Beautiful curves & masterful work. I wouldn't compare, but, I'm curious, how do you feel about the old 60's and 70's Plymouth Barracuda?

Why not? But when I create a model I must be sure that this model is either not yet made on the web or if it has been yet made, it is very bad. I have two models prepared ( bleprints and a lot of photographs ), then I shall look at a Barracuda.
