Description

Green Anoles are very common in south Florida and are known in the old world (Europe) as chameleons. She is hanging on a tree between the patios on the lake side of our condo building. She is about 8 inches (20.3 cm) long and at this size will lay a single egg every 10 to 14 days from April through November. She will bury that egg in soft soil. I am reasonably sure that this is a green olive tree. I do believe that I read that the dark circles around the eyes are caused by the stress of the aggressive defense of their territory. This will zoom for details. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

Fascinating creature we have here. (Like the green coloring.) I can see you've a sensitive heart in viewing the denizens of the natural world, dwelling as you did on the stress the poor creature must have endured. Sad how we humans are collectively ruining the biosphere, isn't it?...
