Description

I dedicate this Hoopoe capture captured yesterday to Carin and congratulate here with her birthday. May your birthday have been as bright as the Orange feathers in this capture. Visited my Aunts house again yesterday and the birds had a feast on the bread and in the bird bath as you will see in the captures that I will share captured there. Here is more information of the Hoopoe Bird: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hoopoe The Hoopoe (play /ˈhuːpuː/), Upupa epops, is a colourful bird that is found across Afro-Eurasia, notable for its distinctive 'crown' of feathers. It is the only extant species in the family Upupidae. One insular species, the Giant Hoopoe of Saint Helena, is extinct, and the Madagascar subspecies of the Hoopoe is sometimes elevated to a full species. The English name is derived from Latin upupa, which imitates the cry of the bird. The sound of the Hoopoe can be heard at this link: http://www.freesound.org/samplesViewSingle.php?id=15538. I suggest this capture being viewed full size as there is a lot of detail in this birds feathers.I cropped this capture just a little bit and resized it. Have a wonderful day everyone. God Bless.

Although we have records of this bird popping in for UK visit, I've never seen one. Great to see it.

Oh Christo - what a great shot and wonderful dedi. Thank you so much dear friend! Despite these feathered friends being in abundance in my garden, I have never had the priviledge to capture one clearly. This is super marvelous! They are such lovely birds.

Such great this photo-shot, Christo! Our daughter once has captured this bird too, but that was in Switzerland. Here I've never seen one. Such a lovely dedi for Carin. God bless my friend.

I love it! All of the birds in South Africa seem to have an interest in wearing extravagant hairdos. I've never seen this type of bird at all, and so this is both beautiful and fascinating for me. I love that really long beak! You always capture birds so clearly and perfectly. And this is a perfect dedication to the really super-cool Birthday Lady.

I didn´t know those birds live in Africa too... Unfotunatelly I have just seen this bird just one time in my whole life..I was surprised by it´s appearance and is left very soon, but I will never forget the moment. Would love to see it again. You capture brings back many memories as you can see.
