Description

The scene was inspired by some beautiful Spring photos of Switzerland. I worked on this scene for 2 days (with shorter and longer breaks of course xD), then I had to reduce the final render quality, because it would have taken ages to render at ultra, or even superior....so it's just broadcast....10.532.398.078 polygons. =D

astonishing polygon count, and very, very beautiful. If you're ever tempted to do this kind of work more interactively, check out the Garden Hose tubes for Painter/Paintshop Pro. They mix very well with Vue renders, allowing you to get that massive detail that you love from Vue, but to fiddle with it interactively. A neat tutorial at: http://www.gardenhose.com/pdf/painting_forests.pdf That's not to disparage the "pure Vue" way of doing things, but I find doing a bit of hand retouch is fun, and more my way of working.

The beauty and mood in this image are wonderful, so idyllic and peaceful. I find it a shame therefor that the castle is positioned so far to the left - it is distracting compositionaly and vue's camera makes it look tilted in these conditions. Also a bit distracting is the straightness of the long section of road in such curved scenery, but this is a matter of personal preferences.

Excellent! I would put the entire castle in the picture, but it is nevertheless a wonderful picture!

Lovely indeed. Others have mentioned the compositional aspect of the castle position, indeed it's a pity to be partially cropped out. All the rest is great.
