Description

Something happened twenty-one "root" years ago on the Earth claimed planet known as Tego. A secret that "The Ones" do not want exposed. A secret so terrifying that they will kill anyone to keep it buried. To accomplish that goal, they only need to eliminate one man. The only problem is, they cannot find him. Derrick Keys has definitely seen the glory days gone by for this town, since its inception 51 "root" (Earth) years ago. Thirty years after the founding of Damnation, when "The Ones" began seeking power, he was the lone voice against them but nobody listened. Then one day, he vanished. "You all can dance with that devil if you want to, but I sure won't, so bye!" was the last words he said before he disappeared. Some say he became a Spacer, others thought he bit the dust in the Singing Caves; east of the town; years ago. One thing was certain: he was always good at speaking his mind. While going through the morning reports, Sheriff Ways leans back in his chair. “This name sounds familiar.” He thought, “Hey Blackstone, who is Derrick Keys?” He shouts as he stands up. “Are you talking about Old Man Keys?” Mary quipped as she looked up. “Wow, now I have not heard that name mentioned since I was just past knee-high to my daddy.” She said as she began pouring a cup of coffee. “He made the worst bowl of chili I have ever tasted in my life.” “Really?” the sheriff spoke as he sat back down in his chair. “Absolutely, I still cannot believe I ate that crap. Just thinking about it gives me indigestion.” She said while pouring another cup of coffee. “Anyway, he was one of the four founders of this town but he was laughed out when he began preaching about conspiracies and end of the world theories and yada, yada, yada. Why do you ask?” She said while walking toward the sheriff with the cups in her hands. “Well…we just received orders to apprehend him.” He said. “Apprehend him!” she shot back. “And just how are we suppose to do that Bill? Use the Force? Hell, we don’t even know if he is still alive!” She yelled while handing a cup to the sheriff. “Then we will begin there.” the sheriff spoke. “Let’s find out if he is still kicking. If he’s not, then this is over. If he spaced out of here, then we will bounce it back to the Marshal and let her handle it. Otherwise, I want that man. Is that understood?” He said while taking a sip from his cup. “Yes sheriff” Mary responded as she began to dial out. What is the secret “The Ones” want to keep hidden? Why did Old Man Keys leave Damnation twenty years ago? Can he now make a decent bowl of chili? I hoped you enjoyed my vision of Old Man Keys with his two Tegoan Roikaa Hounds: Larry and Gum-Gum. I would like to take this time to thank Waldemar "Walle" Belwon who is better know here as the merchant "Dreamlight". After his constructive advice I redid "Old Man Keys" and I have got to say it came out well. I learned a lot redoing this one. Enjoy.
