Description

C4D r10, Sky, GI&AO, no-PW And now for something completely different... ... dusted off a 3ds model ibernating somewhere in my HD from a forgotten time (I'm even wondering what I was planning to do with it since I do not have 3ds Max, gosh I didn't have ANY 3D software at the time!)... ...let's see how Max's files import into the new release-ten... ...OMG! OMG! This is probably the one aircraft I'm in love with, I have to admit. Nothing to do with its actual military effectivenes or whatever, I just like its shape, I just love to look at it flying. And it's a long lasting passion too -- it dates bact to the Cold War times, when (if my memory does not fail me) a Norwegian P-3 on "patrol" duty had a close encounter with one of these Flankers and an Observer took the first (not-classified) photo of it. Gosh! I was staring at that picture in a review and a chill run down my back! It had a look of a thoroughbred -- born to fly... and hunt! Oh, and it was "the enemy" then... I'm glad this changed... Peace to the World! (Which should start from each one's heart... too often doesn't, and this is so terribly sad...) Stefano

It does look good, but it also looks like it's kinda hanging there. It needs a sense of forward motion. Nice sharp render and good use of Cinemas' sky. I think the underneath of the aircraft looks too well lit to my eyes.

Thanks folks, for Your most kind support! Much appreciated! @ Sackrat - Yep! A Sukoi Su-33 Flanker, a variant originally born for the Soviet (then Russian) Navy (and You can also see the Navy's flag on the lighted spot on the right intake!). The canard wings are its most distinguishible feature. @ HorseFlash - I don't know if motion blur would do, after all if You happen to have a look like this You probably are flying in formation with it. I was rather thinking of some blurring to simulate the jets' gasses and to have the camera looking through a canopy with some reflections on it(?). Then if I manage to take one of those missiles flying away... @ Becco_UK - I bow to those eyes that see the truth! (And then quickly run for cover ;^)!!!) Indeed I had not a "floor" while rendering this, so GI is taking that part of the C4D's Sky that should never count in a render to light the underneath!

Nice render, Stefano. Looks like this Su-33 is ready for some serious action judging by the large load of external weapons its carrying. :) Cool POV! That's a great looking model. Do the outer wing panels fold on this 3ds model?

Wow, and in my case this excellent plane was "our" one and the "Orion" was the foe! And I remember that accident with the Norwegian patrol. Your version is heavily modified, its some Su-33 or -35 while that one was Su-27 without canards and thrust vectoring (your render doesnt seem to contain thrust vectoring, though). I also love the look of this plane. Very dynamic composition, though some blurring and streaks of hot air behind engines could further improve the effect.
