Description

This is the spaceship I made for the UK Sci-Fi comedy show 'Hyperdrive' which aired in Jan-Feb of this year on BBC2. The ship was based on a very basic concept by one of the shows writers Andy Riley. His original sketch can be seen here http://tinyurl.com/hjyu7 He based his concept on the BT Tower on London.I built a prototype model first but they decided they wanted a more 2001/Space 1999 look to the ship.So besides sticking to the basic shape of the concept I was left to detail the ship whatever way I felt would work. The shows producers and the shows FX crew were more than pleased with the finished ship.'Hyperdrive' is slated for a 2nd series sometime early next year. I built this model in Max 7

Ditto on the "wow." Haven't had a chance to see HYPERDRIVE but I've read enough about it in SFX to really look forward to it (and your work, or course).

If the british made spaceships the same way they made cars, the astronauts wouldnt last more than 5 minutes (no offense intended)

Looks as though the monarchy survived to reign in the future then ? Nice bit of design, has a bit of the Brian Johnson look to it.

tremendous modeling job; the design would work well as a sublight vessel as well as a FTL ship
