Description

Proud runner and a proud mother. I like that the emotion has been captured. Any suggestions on how to deal with the harsh shadows? Your suggestions and critiques are most welcome. Canon Digital Rebel XT

just a suggestion, take your image and save it twice at least. then adjust the image for brightness until you are satisfied and open up one of your saved ones and using the clone tool replace the shadow areas from the brightned copy. a free program called Faststone viewer is really excellent for adjust poorly exposed images. you have nothing to feel bad about because it is still an excellent picture and keepsake

The only thing I've been suggested was to watch for those mid day sun photos. But then... I wasn't shooting people at the time either. What a beautiful photo of such a special moment!! They'll both remember this for a long time. Way to go Morgan!!!! Yaaaaaaaaaa...

Trust me, IMHO that special shot doesn't suffer from a few shadows. A wonderful moment well captured.

I imagine you could always use a flash. Fills in the dark spots.Looks good to me though. This is a wonderful moment of triumph and emotion.

Yes, a fill in flash does the trick in this kind of situations... but.. it keeps being difficult to get everything in the picture right... but.. does it have to be.. I think sometimes not...In this case the mood is the most important thing..the technical details are also important, but less.
