When you have problems like this.

001.png,

002.jpg

Try to change your "Genesis3PoserUpdater.exe.config" file.

The value="0.30" to value="0,30"

Then you have to clear the DSON cache and reimport your "genesis 3/8" figure again.

This solution help`s on my computer.

I'm having a bit of a problem. I have followed WillDial's suggestion on tutorial on export Gen3 figure to Daz DSON import. Upon importing said figure, it doesn't show up. What's going on?

Thanks IssueDazPoser1.png

Basically, DSON Importer is trying to read all the daz character files to create the figure in Poser. However, DSON importer doesn't really cross Content Folders.

I cover the issue in the webinar here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEfMP7aQ-NE

I see, so the problem would be DSON or having the correct version of it. I'll check out the webinar an may return with update. Thanks, Willdial for the response.

That could be the case. Like I said the webinar, I install my DAZ files into the same Content folder as my Poser stuff. So I always in the same content folder.

Unfortunately, those errors are from the DSON Importer. The hair's DUF file contained setting the Importer can't handle. You have to remove those setting from the DUF file. Looks like you have to turn off the some smoothing mode.

Hello, I just wanted to ask something, I was following the tutorial of lululee, and everything was great, I could load genesis 3 in T pose on poser 11 with xl library manager, from here I noticed something strange, genesis 3 appeared without her textures and without that black outline, I did not give importance to that detail, since I was very happy to finally have genesis 3 in poser 11, I searched and loaded her textures manually, then I could load her hair, her clothes, all right, until it was time to load poses, and her arms, head, and left toes behaved strangely. Then I restarted the poser scene and just loaded genesis 3 and i went directly to load poses. This is how she behaves.

Genesis3toPoser11Glitch(2).jpg

I m using DSON 1.1.3.49, I got “Genesis3StarterEssentialsFemale” from Daz3d, Poser Pro 11 64 bits, OS: Windows 7. I didnt touch the “Genesis3PoserUpdater”, becuase I didnt get to that part yet. Just in case some extra info is that I can use genesis 2 without any problem. If anyone knows how to fix this problem with genesis 3, I will be very grateful. Thanks in advance.

willdial ( ) posted Fri, 13 April 2018 at 7:49 PM

It looks like XL doesn't import Genesis 3 properly. At least not all the time. The approach I use in the webinar worked for me all the time and that is the way I'm going to recommend.

But I have gone and experimented with Genesis 8 with a lot of success except for one...the lashes. For some reason I could not get the G8 F lashes to become visible in Poser 11. Eventually I used the Oh My Lashes for G8 and now it shows up on Shangrila 8 (which I purchased at Renderosity before it was moved and restricted to DAZ) in Poser 11. When she is put in a pose where her eye lids move the lashes still do not move. Anybody with any solutions?

I'm currently testing a new version of the Updater that supports the Genesis 8 Eyelashes. Hopefully, it will be out soon.

thank you so much for making this, allowing me to stay with my favorite software!

A question: If i want to buy some different characters for G3/G8, do I need to apply those within DAZ first, and then do the importing process, or can it be done within poser once you already have the basic G3/G8 in there?

willdial ( ) posted Sun, 09 June 2019 at 1:23 AM

It could be several things. First the installer adds four files. The error is saying it can find one the files. You might want to uninstall and reinstall the Updater.

Second, the Updater uses .Net Framework 4.5. The installer checks for it. But, Windows 10 will report it as installed when it really isn't.

joker2000 ( ) posted Sun, 10 November 2019 at 11:31 PM

I made step by step the Users Guide, but in the last step I have the problem that I can't find the updated file. I get no error in the Genesis3 Updater: "Update = saved", but there is no additional updated file in the folder. Where could it be? I work with Windows 10.

It seems some other people have also the issue, that the face-expressions do not work in the updated file. In my case there is no difference in the behavior of the face expressions between the exported file from DAZ and the updated file. The face expressions just a bit and wrong. I set the limit of the smile to 5 an get this result, also in the updated g3m.

Unbenannt.JPG

I use DAZ 4.12, Poser 11.2 and DSON 1.2.0.12 in windows 10

In the preferences of the DSON I have an "writible Runtime Folder" this folder is tnot the same like my DAZ runtime. could that be the reason?

Is there any chance to solve this issue? To change the DSON writible Runtime Folder has no effect. I have still no correct face expresion morphs after updating the file, I've tried the whole precedure so many times. I think I make everything exactly how UserGuide desciption

Is there anybody with an idea what could be the reason?

Hi jocker2000, the "Genesis3 Updater" works fine for me.

I tried to reproduce your problem but on my computer the "Genesis3 Updater" works and the expressions too.

What i do is that:

  • i save G3 in an separate folder
  • then i run the "Genesis3 Updater"
  • i close "poser" and restart "poser"
  • then i load G3 again

This i "Vickie 7" with "Vickie 8" textue.

Thank you. I tried it again, but no expressions work. The behavior of all figures are the same. the exported file from DAZ and the saved and updatet file from poser. All figures have absolutley the same behavior. No faceexpressions.

It seam it does not work on all PCs. That could be anything but nobody knows why. So I think it will not work for me. I don't belief that poser will bring any figures that I can use anytime. DAZ figuras are lightyears ahead. To work with G2 was good so far, but now I want to go ahead. Maybe poser software is better then DAZ, but what good does it do me if the content is bad.

I will have no choice but to switch to DAZ in long term . It's a pity, Because I like Poser.

Oh wow!

I am happy with G3 and its mor realistisc mouvings. speacialy the new bones in the hands and in the toes wich I missed in G2

Thank you for your support. Lets make Poser great again 😆

So, now I also get G8M into Poser. It seams to work fine exept the eyelashes. As as soon I conform the eyelashes to G8M they get invisible. I still see them in the preview mode as black lines, but in render they are invisible at all. Also I think the lashes are not positionated exactly. Is there a solution for this?

NobbyC ( ) posted Sun, 17 November 2019 at 6:55 AM

joker2000 ( ) posted Mon, 18 November 2019 at 12:46 PM

Hi NobbyC
