Hi everyone,
There is so much great information here - I manually copied and pasted it all into word then made a pdf of it to browse more leisurely as I can. As I sifted through page by page to make sure the formatting was right I was skimming over trying to see if there was a post for my question and I have to be honest if there is I am sorry that I missed it. These 9 pages equated out to 171 Word Document pages shocked look Ok so here it all is...
I do not have any type of art background other than minimal elementary school stuff; I have only been a digital artist for a couple/few years now and have mostly worked out of DAZ 3A/ DAZ 4/4.5. I do own Poser 9/PP2012 and tinkered in PP2012 just a little but when I got to where I could load in a background made by Sveva but could not get it to render out (the bottom was always chopped off!) it ticked me off and I never came back to it.
I now have upgraded to PP2014 and am ready to spread my wings, drop D|S for the moment and dedicate my time to nothing but learning Poser. But, there is this loading a background & getting it to render problem.
What do I do to fix this so that the entire background will render along with the rest of my scene?
Will this fix work in both PP2012 AND PP2014 as I would really like to be able to know how to function in both programs.
Will this work on things like Fabiana's Essentials Vol. IV-Glass&Mirror & Sveva's Behind the Glass backgrounds for it, people's backdrops, etc?
I am still in the very beginning stages of learning 2D Postworking (the actual programs & tools from the ground up) so having the items above in the meantime would be a such a blessing & being so used to how I work in Studio I am more than lost at the moment - staring into the brown screen abyss that is my Poser screen - LOL.
Thank you all for reading my novel & I hope that my words came out right. If anyone knows where a walk-through on how to get DSON, Genesis and all of your Poser CF Files & DSON compatible items working in Poser is, I would be ever grateful for the point in that direction. =D
All the best,
Bree

I get a pop up message when I use that method that says that my window is not the same size as my background image, would I like to have my window changed to match the background - so I say yes and my problem is still the same - I go to my render settings and try to change the resolution there and not sure if that fixes things because I cannot change that to the exact reso of the background. Here is a screen shot of what my problem looks like when I load it in following what you mentioned: File>Import>Background Image

Sorry, I cannot get my screen shot to attach. what is happening is the background loads but at what I guess would be the "horizon" line halfway through the poser screen, it cuts off the background and you cannot see anymore of it below that point. I had this problem when trying to change my background color earlier as well (wanted to make it either white or grey like I have it in D|S so that its easier for me to see some of the colors)

Here is a good, concise explanation of getting the DSON stuff working:

Hope this helps.

hborre, thank you for explaining this. It is definitely making more sense & with the way you explained it, I think you are possibly even answering a question that i have long had in D|S (Maybe, I know both programs work quite differently).
I have never tried my hand at this primitive stuff but this is a good reason to. I just cant help myself when it comes to some of these backgrounds.
Thank you all again for the help! =D

I am very interested as well. I would love an opportunity to be a tester if you need one. I have never done it before but I would represent your target customer base as I am NOT a vendor, I am NOT a content creator. I am not familiar with any of the previous products that everyone else is mentioning so I would even represent the newer customer base and be able to give you some input from that aspect of things.
I am looking forward to seeing more about Dawn!

Quote - First of all, I know people will want a male counterpart for Dawn, no prob, but would people support a male?
We have seen it before, no male stuff because it doesn't sell, so vendors don't make it.
I woud like a decent set of morphs, not just supermodel types, but real people.
Same with skin textures, sometimes we need older characters that looked "lived in"
Most of all I want something that makes me go "WOW!!!!"
All the best.
Great Uncle LROG
The problem that I am having with this is that I have trouble finding the items that the vendors even made for the males. Now, please understand, I joined the community right after the release of D|S 4 & Poser 9. So alot of that old content is buried or takes required items that wasnt for sale anymore. So yeah, I want a male counterpart - I need males in my renders, but getting lucky to find the gear that targets my genre in my budget range is a problem. I can afford most releases here, I have supported almost every Male armor release for Genesis that has come out simply to keep the vendors making the stuff but the other store I did not mention, unless they have a sale on an item that is just so remarkably outstanding you cannot live without it, I really dont even shop there - maybe that is where all of the men's fantasy armor is?
Anyway, point me in the direction of it and I will support it. Make some fantasy armor gear for a new male counterpart that I am able to have the opportunity to own from the get-go and I will support it. As much as I love my male genesis items I have been supporting, I simply do not use Genesis that much - but I will dig money out of the couch when one is released just to keep the vendors makign them.
I hope all of that makes sense and I hope my tone does not come across rude, I am just trying to voice some of us will support it and the vendors who go out on that limb - just make me leather and kilts! sly grin
