April 14, 2014 3:06 am
This acquisition opens up both libraries to members of each site and combines to bring over 3,000 creative, dev and IT courses. Digital-Tutors creative training library consists of courses spanning subjects in 2D, 3D, game development, VFX and software including Maya, Photoshop, 3ds Max, CINEMA 4D, Unity, ZBrush, NUKE, After Effects and more.
Digital-Tutors offers training for individuals, universities and businesses, including Pixar, DreamWorks, Rockstar Games and Electronic Arts. Since its founding in 2000, Digital-Tutors has kept at the forefront of creative technology by forming partnerships with leading software and hardware providers, including Autodesk, Wacom, Maxon, The Foundry and Pixologic.
With new resources, Digital-Tutors will be expanding its instructor base to go deeper and wider in creative subjects and software. Within weeks new releases will rise to 8-10 courses each week for creative training alone. The complete Digital-Tutors team will also join forces with Pluralsight, running offices out of Oklahoma City, Chicago and Salt lake City.
Along with the growth in training production, new subscription plans have rolled out and include a $29 plan that makes Digital-Tutors training more accessible than ever before. The new $29 plan will bring training access to more creatives around the world and address the requests for a lower-priced plan.
"Bringing Digital-Tutors on board has positioned Pluralsight as a complete solution for professional technology and creative skills training," said Pluralsight CEO and co-founder Aaron Skonnard. “We are thrilled to join Pluralsight," said Piyush Patel, CEO and founder of Digital-Tutors. "We've found a company that's as passionate about changing lives through online learning as we are, and this opportunity will allow us to continue that mission on a whole new scale. The artists, designers, students and businesses that have relied on us for over 13 years will now have even more resources to meet the high expectations and demands of today's creative industries."
Digital-Tutors and Pluralsight will keep both sites active for the foreseeable future and subscribers on both sites can access training immediately.
