Salt Lake City, Ut. -- April 11, 2001 -- DAZ Productions, (www.daz3d.com), a global leader in 3D figure development and creation for Poser, announced today the release of a new high resolution 3D model named Victoria 2.0. DAZ Productions focuses on development for Poser, the premier 3D character animation and figure design tool developed and published by Curious Labs, Inc. Victoria 2.0 is an upgrade to DAZ's highly successful Millennium model, Victoria. Victoria 2.0 offers more versatility than any other 3D model available on the market today. It contains over 100 new morph targets to change face shape and expressions. Victoria 2.0 provides several options for tweaking physique, age, weight, height and ethnicity. "We at DAZ wanted to create a quality product that customers would agree is the best product ever," said Chris Creek, Vice President and Creative Director of DAZ Production. "Victoria 2.0 is a remarkable model! There has been an attention to detail which allows me to create the most idealized to ruvenesque to fantastical to normal to everyday women, all with one model. With the separation of left and right morphs, especially in the face, I am able to produce the asymmetry that real human faces have," said Cris Palomino, 2D/3D Illustrator. To create the most realistic texture maps possible, Victoria 2.0 was mapped from digital photographs taken of a live female model. This enabled Victoria 2.0 to be more true to life. "Although we feel Victoria 1.0 is already the best model for Poser, we created her figure over a year ago and have long wanted to improve upon the standard we set then. Victoria 2.0 does this," said Chad Smith, Product Development Manager of DAZ Productions. Dan Farr, President of DAZ Productions adds, "To develop Victoria 2.0, we listened to suggestions made by customers and beta testers and then tried to implement what the market demanded." "The amount of work that DAZ has put into this new model is something to be admired," said Will Kramer, Professional 3D Artist. "Whatever model you desire, I believe that Victoria 2.0, with the incredible amount of full-body and individual morphs, will satisfy anyone who wants a more realistic figure in Poser." "This model is a joy to work with! The extra morphs make it easy to attain characters that were impossible to get before. I can simply turn dials until the figure is perfect. This really speeds up the production time for finishing a piece," said Robin Wood, 3D Artist at www.RobinWood.com. The Victoria 2.0 CR2 file cannot be redistributed. DAZ Productions claims sole ownership and proprietary rights to Victoria 2.0. Pricing and Availability Victoria 2.0 and accessories will be available at DAZ's online store located at, www.daz3d.com. If purchased as an upgrade, Victoria 2.0 will be $29.95. If purchased as a full individual model and not as an upgrade, Victoria 2.0 will be $49.95. The rates mentioned above are introductory rates and are only offered for a limited time. Wow. It looks incredible. I'm buying mine this week for sure. :) Along with the photo texturemaps and that amazing morph hair they have for her... I might actually make something I deem worthy of tacking up in the gallery for all to see, I wouldn't want to subject the fine people of Renderosity to any less ;) My only question is, why would they offer the maps in different res's? For the small price difference, why wouldn't someone just get the big one and scale it down in PS?
