April 2002 Merchant of the Month - CodeTwister

Apr 01, 2002 at 12:00 am by ClintH

I follow this community from many time and I am very proud of be here now. I am not really a 3D artist, fate made me a programmer, and programming is my way to express my creativity. The complexity does not scare me, on the contrary I find the challenge very amusing, and when the mathematical algorithms are too difficult, I try to find alternative ways or some empiric systems. I have tried to do some morphs with Amorphium, but convert the objects to load in the program, make the morph, reconvert the result back in poser format is so boring. Besides, with the modeller is very hard to have the control of the inner parts, as example the teeth, the subdivision of groups and materials is lost and obtaining what you want is really difficult. So when I have decided to extend my knowledge with the study of OpenGL, is born Morph Master. It works directly with the original format of the geometries of Poser, it is quite poweful, and I have put it free for all community. Consequently the experience with Morph Master is born The Tailor, the program that alone took me to be the merchant of the month already in the first month of sells. This product, for its complexity, was a real challenge, but I took great enjoyment to see the transport of morphs algorithm in action in my first attempts. The Tailor is realized to transfer the morphs from a body to the clothes automatically with minimum efforts by the user. Forums in Renderosity are a mine of information and a real feedback of the problems found by the users. I have not much time to be present in the discussions, but I try to read all the threads concerning my product. Thanks to this I have done heavy modifications to the program. In fact, while I am writing this text, I have under my eyes the 1.1 version of The Tailor that is now in beta test. The program will have many enhancements, as example a complete support for Full Body Morphs. It will be available soon and free of charge for all previous customers. Two words about the store. This is my first experience to sell a product through the Renderosity store, and I was agreeably surprised from the efficiency of the system and the competence of the staff. Become a merchant with Renderosity is really easy and is an experience that I would suggest to everyone that want begin to make productive their job. Have fun with The Tailor CodeTwister
