In 2017, Renderosity asked its community to create a new generation of horror as generations of horror battle. Entries included Universal monsters vs. modern-day slashers, dinosaurs vs. zomibes, aliens vs. Marines.

Here are the winners in the Animation Category.

1st Place: The Monster Race by bsteagal

In The Monster Race, bsteagal took a slightly different take on "Generation Horror Wars."

From conception to rendering, bsteagal took about three weeks to create the winner using Motionbuiulder, a demo version of Marmoset Toolbag, sound composition and layering in Adobe Premier and final output in AE for a motion blur pass. All characters are Daz3d, deinonychus and Genesis 2 Male Zombie.

"Animation was done in Motionbuilder, using body and facial mocap captured specifically for this contest using myself as the actor, except for the Zombie run, provided by my good friends at Mad Marker Studios in Mt. Horeb Wisconsin," bsteagal said.

2nd Place: The Curse Girl vs. The Filthy Alien

3rd Place: The Cemetery Scene by martyr45

Honorable Mention: Horror Stories from the 1800s legends & lore The Headless Specter by poisinivy
