Jan 16, 2008 at 12:00 am by Store Staff

So, you just installed Adobe's new Creative Suite 3. You are overwhelmed with all the exciting new features, but want to dive right in. Sure, there is plenty of help found within the Suite and on the Adobe website, but you want a more thorough understanding, such as what you would get with a classroom styled training. Ha! No fear. That's where Total Training comes in.

Total Training has an abundance of training DVDs for various Adobe programs, as well as online access packages to fit your needs. This review in particular, is based on the "Total Training for Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Essentials Premium Bundle." In this nicely bundled set, you get eleven DVDs packaged in a book form, perfect for anyone's bookshelf. The set is comprised of two DVDs each for Acrobat, Dreamweaver, Flash, InDesign, Photoshop Extended, and one DVD covering essentials for Illustrator.

When you insert any of the DVDs, you go through an install process, which sets up the course material and extras on your machine for that particular training. This is so you can easily work through the material alongside the video training and further your understanding of what is presented.

Now, for a word about the instructors. The instructors are fully qualified to present the material, coming from varied fields and years of experience. Not only that, but they present the training in a very clear and enthusiastic approach, which goes a long way in the learning process.

The material is also, for the most part, presented at a decent pace. But, the general idea of this training, is that you can go directly to what you want to learn, and skip over that which you already know, or would not be using anyway. With each course, you can quickly navigate by lesson, and topic within the lesson, through drop-down menus at the top of the screen. Learn what you want, when you want.
