OK, so everybody (and their mum) does a chess set. I thought I'd go a bit different and make the very seldom seen round chess board. It's a 100% official Chess Federation board. I've played it a few times and it's a very interesting game, some of your best pieces become limited and others become very powerful. I made one from an old dart board.
The image shows how to set up the board. The inner pieces are from outer to inner: Castle, Knight, Bishop and then King and Queen as usual on her own colour.

Didn't know that there's really something like a round chess board. Looks even more difficult than the classic scheme.
Very nice models. Maybe you should make the board's surface a bit more reflective.

Very much in favour in the Victorian era when there were lots of odd variations on chessboards.
