It sits before me,
A project of uncountable actions.
Do this, this, that, this, that
Repeat repeat repeat.
Go away and come back
This, this, that, this, that
Repeat repeat repeat
Over and over.
I am the ocean,
It is a rock.
Action by action
Little by little
Molecule by molecule
I shave away
Abrade away ...
One after another after another.
My will to complete
I will prevail,
And in the end
The result will be
Than total transformation.
And I will smile,
Ready to begin again.
This is for my friend Brandon. Today I asked him how his project was coming, and he said, "I am the ocean, and it is a rock." Ten minutes later, this was done.
Sometimes art just happens, and I swear my brain isn't involved in the process at all!

beautiful, and the music of the words suits the feeling of the words...There's an old Taoist saying that rock is harder than water, but only water can dissolve rock (whereas rock will never dissolve water). The image of creating, by slowly shaping and dissolving the rock, is beautiful. And in the end you describe a very Eastern thing: Being born, it starts all over again. When you 'channel' your work, it comes out like waterfalls. Beautiful, and I can definitely relate.

I see you are a lady of many talents, Tara!
Followed the link here from your comment on Mike's (neferiousDrO) wonderful wood-grain tiles post.
This definitely speaks to me - it's a wonderful poem, and really sounds like a relaxing evening spent just playing for the sheer joy of it. Wonderful!
