Subject: SUPPORT THE DEMAND FOR DAVID 5

SUPPORT THE DEMAND FOR DAVID 5

On the DAZ 3D site I am in the process of raising a little hell for a 5th Generation Iconic Shape for David. I have already created awareness of this in a respective thread Here, but this definitely requires to have its own spotlight here as well as in as many other places that I can rack up support in if this is to get enough attention and be even remotely effective.

As we ALL know, David is a Millennium Male and complimentary brother figure to DAZ’s famous leading male model, Michael in the equivalent regard to the way Stephanie’s petite frame is to Victoria. Created by DAZ Community legend, MallenLane, in Generation 3 for DAZ Studio, David is a lean, pectoral “Real World” male as an alternative to the idealized, or rather, stocky structure to Michael. However, despite his well-positive reception and content support, David, like certain other figures by MallenLane, was not crossed over to Generation 4; this was all especially despite the fact that DAZ officials themselves promised such updates of the full Millennium Family roster. The cruel wound of disappointment was salted when Stephanie 4 was revealed as an Elite character for Victoria 4 with extra proportional parameters and unimesh support, including that of a teenager, yet this treatment would be deprived from the male side of support. It was eventually explained by both DAZ team members and MallenLane himself that the reason why there was no David 4 was due to MallenLane’s personal feelings that Michael 4 had enough intermediate support that such a figure was not necessary.

Now that the latest version of Stephanie is upon us with the technological advancement of Genesis, the time has come to remind DAZ that, because of this very fact, is why it is more important now than ever that Genesis really does need to have as much option and versatility as possible.

This is why I humbly ask as many of you as I can to participate in this demand and sign a petition I constructed to help get DAZ to comply with this request. All signatures, from what I understand from Change.Org, the host of the petition generator used, are secure. The petition is provided below:

DAZ 3D: Create a Generation 5 David Iconic Shape

Also, if desired, you can don this self-made banner in your signature to openly show your patronage to, not only the cause, but to how you would be very much willing to invest in such a product:

Support David 5

Thank you all very much! I sincerely hope that our favorite lean “Real World” brother finds his way back home with the rest of the Millennium Family where he rightfully belongs.

I am rather new to the creative side of DAZ and therefore unfamiliar with what is going on...in other words is this for real??

Yep, DAZ has released in the past different versions of their figures for each generation and David was an alternative male version to Michael. Now that DAZ is into the generation 5 figures for genesis, some as above are overly enthusiastic that DAZ create a David morph for genesis like they did with Stephanie.

Personally I have no use or need for a gen 5 David morph, but more options are always good. (I was kinda surprised that they left out David from the gen3 Iconic shapes)

100% genuine, my dear. If you appriciate the idea of an ACTUAL "Real World" looking male shape from DAZ, then you are more than welcome to help influence one. 😄

Actually, he's there. He was just released much earlier than the others, shortly after the Gen 4 Iconic Shapes. As a matter of fact, if you look closely at the image I posted, it is the D3 Genesis Shape promotional image shopped black & white.

You can find the actual shape Here. But yeah, if anything should surprize you, it should be the fact that we never got a David 4!

seriously buc whomever started this thread no offence but leting david 4 actually be used would be a good thing.  daz is starting to move faster forward than it's paid members or not can catch up to even b4 the next gen is out so they need to slow down or end up with  a match to poser 7 that nobody liked.

Trust me, just about everyone who uses Gen 4 the males would love to have D4. Unfortunately, that practically has no chance of happening as DAZ has now entered Gen 5 with Genesis. There are some of us who try to argue that a D4 would still be profitable for people who prefer programs like Poser or DS3 and in doing so, quite litterally profitable for DAZ themselves. Instead, DAZ says that they have something in the making for Genesis that will make Poser users "feel like they're in heaven", to quote directly...

So the only thing we as a 3D community can do at this point is strive for DAZ and MallenLane to give us a D5.

And a child 5 and young teens 5! The basic child morph just distorts all the features so they look all young but all the sam no matter what you do.

i heartily promote this idea.

I have no use for V5, Steph 5, et al.  I stopped buying females and their wardrobes at V4, somewhere along the line.

I will NOT buy another female.  My runtime is clogged with them.

However, gimme a new David or some alternative/addition to M4/M5 that is more in line with the males I desire, and I will buy everything you make for them.

Alas, I don't see this happening. I don't think DAZ appreciates some of the cult following that has developed around David.  It doesn't fit their family friendly image.  But that's just my opinion.
