| I am an unabashed fanboy of the X-Men. I started reading the comic when I was in grade 8 and haven't really stopped since. I like the whole mythos, but there are 3 members in particular who were always the triumvirate of cool for me. They were pals and teammates and when push came to shove, they were a dangerous fighting force - kind of a team within the team. That trio was Logan (aka Wolverine) the feral warrior, Kurt Wagner (aka Nightcrawler) the persecuted Catholic that looked like a demon, and Piotr Rasputin (aka Colossus), the gentle, artistic giant with the ability to turn to steel. It's taken me a while to get all three into my runtime in a way that I feel does them justice, but I've finally polished it off (literally!) with the big metal guy, Colossus. Of course, here Kurt and Colossus are being put through their paces in the X-Men's training grounds, the 'Danger Room'. A potentially deadly proving grounds where the mutants at Xavier's academy can hone their powers and their fighting skills. Click for a bigger and bolder view of these X icons. :D Of course, the characters depicted are not my own. The copyright of the characters and backstory are the property of Marvel Comics. I just had fun playing about with them. |

| by lt_roberts30 on Jun 27, 2010 11:32:14 pm [homepage] The texture is Magic Mirror 'steel' on a custom rolled M4/ F4 figure, but there is a hefty dose of Photoshop to get the look right. This took an age to render, as all the reflections are pretty heavy lifting on any rendering engine. |
