Description
Professor Cecil Kroftmann frowned. "Dolly, I just recited the incantation as set down here and the book seems to be responding," he pointed to an eerie glow emanating from the page. "It calls for resurrection of the deceased but it seems this slight glow in the book is all I'm getting!"
"Uhm, Profesor?" the little doll-like creature began. "Perhaps outside in the garden?" The revenant in the garden peered through the window seeking whoever had called to it.
Molly's art notes: Set up and rendered in Poser 12.0.1029 using Superfly/Cycles 2 with a bit of tweaking in Photoshop. Dolly is based on Glidman's Ayana Doll which is no longer available but his No Name Doll is quite similar. Professor Kroftman is based on M4 with wonderful morphs and texture by Henrika. The revenant is the Skel-O-Lantern by Cybertenko. The setting is by Blue Tree Studios.
Professor Kroftmann and his laboratory creation, Dolly One, are characters I've used before at Deviant Art. The Professor is one of the faculty at the Department of Paranormal Studies at River Heights University; as such, he is a colleague of Professor Elizabeth Van Humbeek. Whereas she studies disembodied spirits (ghosts) he studies the quest for resurrection of the dead and the creation of life forms using the arcane energies and techniques of the Old Ones who once inhabited the caverns beneath River Heights. Dolly is an innocent creature of superhuman strength and limited mental facilities that is a result of his research. She is very devoted to the Professor whom she sees as her father.

things looking through windows is the most scary thing for me, so this really works. the light is good; its eerie and dramatic. I like the green glow in the book and outside. this is really nicely done, especially for Halloween.

I'm very glad for the feedback on the lighting as I find it so hard to get creepy, dim lighting for such pictures. I certainly had Halloween in mind when I did it. =)

Cool scene! I was a bit startled myself when I zoomed in and saw that pumpkin-head skeleton glowing at the window! Love the professor's pose and expression. He looks so resigned to the "failure" of the spell. If he keeps this up, he's going to have a rather crowded house full of "accidental" creations!! Great job with the lighting!

Thanks, Amy. Professor Kroftmann and Dolly are characters that I want to do more with and did run a series with them and another unfortunate character over at DA. I see him as a kind of benign and bumbling version of Victor Frankenstein. XD
