Far beyond the city limits of New Babbage proper the steam carriage passed through a gate and into a very large tract of land. "Teh Areo 'Arbor lays yonder in teh clearin'," Fat Bob shouted over the clatter of the steam carriage and thundering of the Guardian's steps. He abruptly braked at the foot of a large tower in the shadow of a titanic airship. He courteously handed Lilja Darkstar down from the carriage and they turned to survey a group of approaching clanks. "I recognize the dirigible airship as a conveyance of the skies but what of all these winged machines? Are they also flying craft?" Lilja asked the large clank. "Oh Aye! Aereoplanes teh Gov'nor called 'em as. Can't say I've ever seen one take to the sky, though," Fat Bob doubtfully replied. "There's a lot YOU haven't seen, Robert!" This exclamation emanated from a small, slender clank that seemed in charge of the welcoming group of clanks. "Ehm, God's Teeth! I mighta know'd you'd show up, Weasel!" Fat Bob exclaimed.
