It was hot and Jamila was not having any luck hunting, "I guess it is time to give it up. Perhaps my luck will change later." Then she heard the sound of water and perked up, "I'm not near any creeks, maybe there is a new spring!" She was excited, a new spring would bring prey to hunt, but what she really wanted right now was a cold drink of water. Jamila rushed towards the sound but then stopped short, in front of her was a wall of water, she exclaimed, "no it's not a wall, it is a pond of water that sits on the ground, but what keeps it from spilling?" Warily she moved closer and she noticed the air was getting cooler. The breeze carried a strange scent and fine drops of spray were landing on her skin, both felt very refreshing. Jamila licked her lips and the water tasted of salt, she had never seen an ocean before and the salt surprised her. "Can I put my hand in it? No I shouldn't! Should I?" Of course she couldn't resist and she reached out her hand until it was touching the surface, then with a grin she dunked it into the water. Suddenly two creatures popped out, they were making a lot of noise and splashing water on Jamila. She jumped backwards, but after her initial shock she started laughing. "My God! You two are very noisy! You scared me you know, but I think you are just as surprised as I am! Then just as suddenly the two creatures dove into the middle of the pool and disappeared. Jamila watched as the water started to slowly drain and flow around her feet. She couldn't help feeling a little sad watching this, but she was soon smiling again. Where the pool of water had been there was now a dozen good sized fish flopping about in the mud. "Oh wow!
