Description
Cleaning out my Nordegg folder I came across one more gem from the Cline River.
There is no sense of scale here as all the features are utterly alien to most of us; this view could be anywhere from a few centimeters to meters or more.
I really like the creepyness of this image. In places the ice has taken on an organic appearance... like some massive slime mold, or the leftovers of a giant snow slug. Neat to know that such mystical places exist, if only for a season at a time.

this is just about as creepy as it gets. great capture Roxy - somehow I am thinking of the 50's style Sci-Fi movies
Yep... creepy.. but I bet it looks lovely in spring with the thawing. Mother nature has so many surprises for us if we only look. Your've taken some great pictures and frankly that's why I finally decided to post a couple of my own.. even though I only have a little pocket camera. LOL Great work.... and thanks for your comments on mine. hugs xxx
This is a very cool looking capture for sure, Roxie. Thanks so much for sharing this one.
Great capture, Roxy-sensei! the rock on center looks like a fist.
You're right, there really is no way to judge the scale here. Great variations in abstract shapes & very appealing range of gray tones as well. Unique & excellent image...
Water, or in this case ice, is an amazing substance. Nice capture
Really great textures! I see an ice troll in there. Excellent detail in the water.
looks to me like some kinda frozen creature there, Roxy. cool shot, love your b&w work. and Happy Easter..
Nice compo, well done.
excellent
The water suggests one scale but the ice formation appear smaller in scale – Great image!
frozen beauty
really interesting shot, I love the visual confusion the forms make as eye and brain try to figure out if there is a giant or creature partly buried there
Very cool ice shot!!!!
It does allow one's mind to run wild and imagine all kinds of things. A fun and well composed shot, Roxy! The B&W seems to give it even more of an alien feel.
Wicked!!! Wonder what this would look like in a really deep ugh-ugh-ugh cobalt duo-tone?

Nice. You're right about the creepiness: It reminds me of Geiger's art with its creepy organic shapes.
