Description
Taken after some celebration in a local Chinese Pavilion about a month ago. Lots of wood blocks and maybe pomegrant shards scattered about. Either a wedding or New Years?
Test of bokah abilities with my new Olympus Pen E-PL5 micro 4/3. I think it has great bokah for an f3.5 lens and shot at f6.3. And I never use in camera special effects on my SLR but this Olympus mirrorless has a few good ones, this was straight from the camera with no photoshop.
My last post for a few weeks as today I am off to Edinburgh and then the Scottish Highlands and Islands. Looks like the weather is gonna be inducive to staying in a pub and drinking Laphroig. Gonna give the Olympus a good work out and see what kinda travel/street camera it really is.

Beautiful image, I love contrast, texture and color effect! Have a nice journey!
One really get a feel for the textures, Roxy. This is lovely in it's elegant simplicity. Beautiful contrast between the almost monochrome of the wood, and the magenta hues of the pomegranate. Ah, lucky you - what wonderful travels you are able to take, my friend! I'm sure you'll have lots of lovely photos no matter the weather. Looking forward to seeing them!
Great great capture !!
Great shot –I like the limited color pallet, not sure if it was from lighting or the camera’s special effects you added. Very nice!

special colored impression! natural artwork! ;o)
Fantastic colors and structures. Hard to believe that it was not processed. You have a good eye to create a mood of a detail. Here it's like goodbye or melancholy. An excellent capture, Roxy I wish you a good time
What a beautiful shot, Roxy, and no Photoshop fixes on this--- definitely a pro work: the absolute contrast between the gray wood and the pomegranate shards strewn all over the place. It is quite poetic and meaningful in some ways. Aesthetically, it conveys both sadness and cheer because of the color contrast. The scattered elements are like broken dreams, once there and now gone. This image is perfect for a CD cover or a novel book. Fantastic work!
Gorgeous textures and colors, would love to see the places you see, I sometimes wish I would have been born in Ireland or a similar country, living in small town in a cozy little cottage where sheep cross the street and horses are still used to haul stuff in carts, would love to walk the country side in the night with a full moon and fog covering the landscape.
