Nice tribute. Neanderthals, likely an Ice Age adaptation, with some evidence of miscegenation, had, as few seem any longer to know, considerably larger brains than modern or Cro-Magnon man...

This is Very recognizable as Frazetta inspired. I'm a big fan of his too. I used to get a couple of Frazetta calendars every year and have a 'coffee table' book of his work. He was the perfect illustrator for one of my favorite genre of books - fantasy/adventure. Superb job here, Nancy! Gotta love the color and overall look; Very Frazetta-esque!

he is a legend. I like him too. I downladed a lot of hia images before they stop it.at the time it was legal to do it. this is super looking and well done. lot of work went in this

Fabulous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Fantastic idea and work,my Dear!!Brava!V:DDD.Hugsxx

very nicely done, Frazetta would be proud of this tribute. Love the shadowing.

I am not familiar with the man but I will go and check out his work. your work takes no slack from anyone. always outstanding graphics

I'm not familiar with the illustrator but your render inspires me to learn about him. While I love the expressions and the overall graphic, what I really like the most are the clubs. For some reason I get the impression those clubs and in their different positions took as much time to do and the neanderthals. Very intricate work.

What an atmosphere...Extraordinary work!

Scary guys... excellent work :)

I should add that I was trying to recreate one of his works in 3D called Neanderthal. The poses are Frank's, recreated in 3D as best I could. I hope that what I've created here is not a copyright infringement of any kind. I sure had fun making this one.

Oh Nancy!....this IS brilliant!! Even before I scrolled down, I though Frazetta!! You got the bold graphic way he did shadows perfectly!! Homage or not, this image rocks!!! "The boys are back in town!" Heheh, your skills continue to amaze me!! I need these morphs!!!! ~ XOXO ~

Excellent image Nancy ... this is so impressive. Kudos! *****

A very well executed fantasy image!! Great characters!! Splendid work!!!!

OMG this is just marvelous. I'm a big Frazetta fan and this is as close to his work as you're going to get without being him.

Not familiar with Frazetta, but if he knew that his work inspired this he'd be quite pleased, I'm sure. Bravo!

fantastic and indeed very impressive art work Nancy,an excellent creationKudos*

wow-awesome

Phew! When I saw the title I thought you had done an image of me. 8-) Well, you're a few neanderthals short but the image has a great lighting and atmosphere. The characters are ugly enough to be neanderthals. Great poses. Your work is very different from wht Frazetta did but that's inspiration. Good luck in the contest.

Great work Nancy I can see the Frazetta inspiration. I have aways been a fans of his. But what catches my eye is your background. You always make such great backgrounds. Awesome work. warm smile*

They look quite formidable. I'd be forced to shoot them if I met up with 'em in a dark alley. Very nice image. These guys actually lived a most miserable existance. They endured the unimaginable.

Fabulous work and a fantastic tribute!

Eeeck...it's the crazy hair-bear-bunch ! great dedi/entry for my all time fav fantasty artist "FF", wish I could paint like him ! LOL & Cheers

Excellent :) I love it

I saw those guys at the bowling alley last week..lol really, really good work, wishing I could do something so outstanding. five stars

WoW!!! Thats all I got everyone else has already said it all.

great work! ughs and kisses!

It's a tribute, and you said as much, therefore not an infingement. Anyway, excellent. The posing is right on. Even the ground they tread on has a Frazetta look and feel to it. Bravo!

Outstanding illustration, true to his style.

Powerful image!

I recognize frazetta's work here, very nice!
