Description
I remember one year, my father took us to a cabin in the mountains for christmas. We'd ski, and ride the sled down the slopes all day, then come down just as the sun set. We would stay up late at night sipping hot chocolate, and he'd play his guitar and singing Irish lullabies, and French folk songs. He had a voice so clean and clear, and played with such passion.
Those moments are the ones I remember most vividly, the ones that impress upon me that music and art are more than just sound and sight. The more I was exposed to this kind of time together, the more I understood how important art was in my life and how it can be a valuable connection between myself and my own daughters. It's common ground between us now. With that, we will always have something to talk about - even when they dont always feel like talking
