*Life Cannot Be Caged
Take off your keys
the night comes and it's time to go:
can't you hear life that calls?
Take off that make up...
I suck and nothing can hide it
when I don't feel myself right...
You had me,
but I wasn't enough...
Why if I did try to give you all I had?
But tonight I won't stand cries,
I go out
at life that calls
it's here, I don't wanna miss it out,
I'll get life and life will get me
and this night ain't gonna be a tearful sea.
Mirror, you're lookin at me,
mute
lost in deadly eyes,
deadly eyes that don't reach me now,
as I step out in coldly breezes,
the ice turns me in and out,
flashes of fake lights,
rumbles of fake wishes:
I need everyone who could need me
in this night when life calls
someone deaf, someone blind,
someone who could just like...
I'm lost and broken,
and you're not here.
But no more cries,
life can't be caged,
I'll get it and I'll feel new again...
with deadly eyes,
and deadly heart...
You did get me,
but I wasn't enough

The second piece in my Poems 96/98 series, after"Your Last Rose".
The mood is meant to be frenzy, but grotesque,and in the end shattered and resembling a
poisoning nightmare like when you try to go out and feel "great"
even being utterly lost.The title of the poem and of the artwork is ironic,of course:
a caged heart forcedly lives a caged life.Cold in a cold night where the flashes
and the warmening suggestions just look out of place.Thanx again to Pascale for the pic:

Not much to add.. just "enjoy" this quite diverse mood from me!
PS: Valentine yesterday was *so* demanding I think today I won't be much around ;) But don't worry,
I'm *truely* fine ;)

Utterly lost and trying to survive and appear "normal". Great theme, somewhere we have all been and in many cases still are. It's always great to see Pascale, nice job of layering. I think that your openness and willingness to give of yourself is just wonderful. Excellent work.

There may be a moral to this - As selfimage - expectations & disappointment are quite emotional catalysis - acceptance of the results generated may be a key ! :)
A very good piece. And as stated, very different to how the original picture is. :) A wonderful model and artist. And as I told you before, in this specific and only picture she has a sense of her that reminds me of you very much. Sure you are blonde but there is something in that specific pose and eye look that reminds me of you. You are very similar in this shot. :) Back to the piece itself..with the poem and writings it gives you a sense of feel but if I would just look it would I think give the same feelings. And that's great. Exactly what you were after I am sure :) Would be interesting to see some time in the future if you would use Pascale again in something. It's great ;)

I had to wait a while before commenting on this one. The image is powerful presentation, but it was the poem that made me cry. I have been feeling like this so much lately, and there seems no end in sight. Thank you for sharing this, it helps me to not feel so alone. ((hugs))
