Here's a preview of one of the "hairy" caterpillars from my upcoming Caterpillar sets in my Sagebrush Habitat rendered in Iray.
The Western Tent Caterpillar belongs to the category of "stinging caterpillars." Its spines may cause a stinging sensation if handled, and may cause an allergic reaction on the skin if handled by allergy sufferers or individuals with very sensitive skin. It is found in southern Canada, the western United States, and parts of northern Mexico. It is a favorite food of the endangered Western Yellow-billed Cuckoo (one of the birds I champion in my SBRM charity sales)
