Description
Here's one of the stars from my Caterpillars of the World v1, the Milkweed Caterpillar.
This caterpillar, which is about it is 4.5 cm (1.8 in) long, turn into one of the most recognizable butterflies on the planet, the Monarch. They feed mostly on milkweed, which is their host plant. They have also been seen on basswoods, elms, sumacs, locusts, oaks, Osage oranges, mulberries, pecans, willows, cottonwoods, and mesquites.
It ranges from Southern Canada through northern South America. It is also found in Bermuda, the Cook Islands, Hawaii, Cuba, and other Caribbean islands, the Solomons, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Australia, the Azores, the Canary Islands, Madeira, continental Portugal, Gibraltar, the Philippines, and Morocco. It appears in the UK in some years as an accidental migrant.

Slightly out of focus to add to the realism Ken. In fact, it adds to the glorious plumage/colour combination. Great art!
Awesome realism. This takes me back to childhood, had milkweed growing and every year I would watch the eggs become the caterpillar then the butterfly. Great memories and fantastic work :)
