Description
The two air pirates arrived a few minutes early for the meeting with Sonja Steelsinger. They stopped well short of approaching the lone figure on the pier. "It appears she's alone," Kimiko observed.
"Better yet, the place is deserted. Perfect for sticking a knife in her and giving her the deep six. Let's go!"
The cloaked figure, unaware of the pirates arrival, surveyed the foggy night.
Molly's art notes: Set up and rendered in Poser 12.0.1029 rendered with Superfly/Cycles 2 and tweaked a bit in Photoshop. Attempting a dark, foggy night was challenging, to say the least. The air pirates are based on the Dawn and V4 mesh with modifications by Tempesta3d. Sonja Steelsinger is based upon La Femme with modifications by Afrodite-Ohki. The Steam launch is by Cybertenko. The Steam Carriage is by ADH3D. The overall scene is by BlueTreeStudio.

nicely done! good job on the atmosphere..
Thanks for the feedback! Fog is hard for me and I appreciate your comment a lot! <3
Molly
wow, excellent spooky night time lighting, the slight mist and the reflections on the water look really good. I don't think this is going to be as easy as those pirates think it is... never trust a hood.
Heh. Yes, indeed, you can't really see who or what is in a cloak and hood like that. XD
Thank you for the comment, my dear!
Molly
fantastic atmosphere
Thank you for the encouragement. Fog and night time are very hard for me. XD
Molly
You sure nailed the atmosphere perfectly.
I really appreciate that comment, my dear. <3
Molly
looks like a dangerous place... which are usually filled with dangerous people!
Thank you, my dear. It's pretty quiet at the moment and I expect that the air pirates like it that way for their nefarious plans. XD
Molly
Excellent narrative and atmosphere!
Thank you! It seems like I've been telling this story forever... ;-D

Youve nailed the atmosphere, brava! In DAZ I would just use a fog camera; slow, but easy. Is there such a thing in Poser?
Hmm. Sounds easy in DAZ Studio. In Poser it's a bit trickier. There are a couple of ways to do it, but there is a prop of infinite dimensions called "atmosphere" that is usually invisible. I mess with it's volume qualities (density, anisotropy, color and the like) to produce a fog effect. As with your "fog camera" it REALLY increases the rendering time usually more than doubling it. =/
Thanks so much for the reassurance that all that rendering time was worth it! =)

That's ma' girl!😊💖🥰
Mind-bending awesome composition, amazing environment, unbelievable fabulous atmosphere and lighting, brilliant render.
Magnificent Masterpiece of Finest Arts. I love it!
Thanks, Marius. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Now we're talking - nothing draws the eye and mind like a misty night on the water...
I don't think Sonja's the slightest bit unaware...
This is Molly-work at its best. On to the next one :)
Your confidence in Sonja will hopefully not be misplaced! XD
I'm glad you like the look and feel. I'm always trying to improve my mastery of dimly lit scenes and fog is just one more thing to complicate it. ;-)
Molly
Awesome atmosphere and lighting! I'm guessing Sonja Steelsinger isn't going to let these two sneak up and do her any damage. The air pirates might regret trying to harm her!!
I'm glad you are confident in Sonja's capabilities. There will be surprises (at least I hope you'll find developments surprising)! XD
