Amazing street scene, Steve! It's sad to say that places like this really do exist in the world....it's a dangerous place to be....especially at night, when all kinds of 'low life' criminals are lurking around......waiting for 'victims'. I surely do hope that little gal can find some safe shelter soon, or she might end up a 'victim'......

Harley Quinn of the far east comes to mind. Cool pic. The back alleys of Tokyo aren't much better than NYC. I've seen'em both. I will say the true back alleys in Tokyo are less cluttered and littered, a bit.
Tokyo was interesting in that further from the center business and commercial district you get, many small side streets and alleys had tiny shops and tiny eateries and they all tended to specialize in only a few products. This is not unlike some areas of NYC and Philly. Like any big city and NYC, Tokyo did appear to have some definite seedy alleys and "don't go that way" areas, our host/guide kept us on track.
Sorry for the side track but that alley image brought back some memories.
