Description
I think when I was in middle school/junior high school, back during the "Middle Ages" we were using desks like these. I recall a female student sitting in the middle of the class room that passed gas really loud. the whole class sit silent for a short time then started laughing. after a pause, she was laughing also.

the building that housed the middle school dated from the early 1900's and I think they never changed the desks

I can remember desks like these from my early school days, but I don't think they were this ornate, nor were they connected as these are.
