Description
Last Sunday (by the low evening sun) we climbed a high hill when we met these walking branches.
: Uh, "Hello, where are you guys going?" It's tough climbing with so many legs, huh!
Why I did mention that 'Stick insect' at my title?
:Because in Dutch we call this insect, 'A Walking Branch'.
Dear friends, wishing you a lovely day further, and thank you for your look.

prachtige opname en lijnenspel.
What a wonderful picture looks wonderful :)
Amazing photograph !!! I hope you didn't cross paths with any old women, in pointed hats, trying to give away apples or find any bread crumbs along that path, while on your way to this tree!!! This looks like it is right out of Grimm's Fairy Tales!
I wonder if there was a fallen tree that those roots/branches grew around? Wonderful find and shot!
Has a flood washed away the ground? This is amazing! What a great find this is.
Awesome organic form expertly captured.

What a story that tree must have to tell! This is a very gorgeous phot in this late afternoon light. Thanks for sharing this wonderful find, Mies.
Cool capture Jacomina.
Wow what an amazing find and awesome photo !
The interesting Stick Insect really looks like twigs compared to these hefty looking legs !
Thanks for sharing this stunning part of your walk Mies.
wonderful capture
wow! love it!
It's a beautiful sight. But it's also a beautiful photograph. It's bathed in deep golden yellows. And the background trees are tinged with a gentle pink. And your composition allows these branches to dominate the center of the shot, while allowing the rest of the shot to be seen clearly. A beautiful capture, Jacomina, stunning and gentle; and so very golden. This and your previous marigold image make a golden pair.
(You've probably seen these, but I'll give you a couple of links anyway. The first is a typical "walking branch" from Cambodia---from the great Angkor Vat sculptures. Those are big 'branches', lol !!! And the second link is the Google search for these branches. If you feel like it, just glance at these: Maybe your photograph is a sibling to these...
