Description
Went to a local car show a few weeks ago with a friend. I never really developed the obsession (or really much of an interest at all) with cars that so many of my male friends seem to have (not that there's anything wrong with that, as Jerry Seinfeld used to say). But I do appreciate the design that goes into cars & I liked this art deco style upholstery...

I'm with you. My interest in cars as cars is pretty much zero. As pieces of art, design, fashion ... that's a different story. I can't tell you how many times I've tried to get this shot. Not this particular car, since I don't recall ever seeing that upholstery, but that particular sort of angle and vibe. One, I'm not tall enough. Two, if it isn't a convertible, they so often have the windows rolled up that I can't get any sort of shot at all. Three, I'm not tall enough. :P I can raise the camera over my head and shoot down, but somehow that hasn't worked out for me yet. I'll keep trying. This is inspirational!
I sure got the obsession starting at about age 12...it wasn't any doing on my part...it just saturated my mind:) Over the years I've been to so many car shows and ogled so many showrooms that they finally don't hold much magic for me anymore... Phewwww, All that said, this fellow or girl had a great upholsterer. Neat shot.
I am with you and Tara. It the vehicle gets me from point a to point b without breaking down I am happy. Beyond that they certainly can be fine works of art as with this one. :)
