I always enjoy seeing wind turbines. We've come across wind farms in the Midwest prairie states that I thought were pretty big until I saw this one! This is only a part ... it's impossible to see the whole thing at one time.

You are lucky in a way that you have huge areas of remoteness over there. Something like that over here would be a blot on the landscape' I like the shot though!!
They have them in Eastern Washington as well. The blades make for some interesting shadows over the low hills.

Great capture Tara! Coming down from 29 Palms Marine Corps Base they are all along the highway. There are also a lot of those west of Mojave!

Our American cousins often tell us how much bigger everything is over there! These light switches are no exception. I am hoping our off shore wind farm goes ahead, but many nimbies are against it.
Looks like quite an impressive array - they seem to go on as far as the eye can see. I used to live near a large wind farm located at Altamont Pass & passed it many times. One problem they had was that close to 5,000 birds (including golden eagles) were killed by them annually, but they have since moved to taller models that move more slowly & they say that has cut down on the danger to birds...

This is an example of how good you are getting shooting out the window of a moving car:-) Practice makes perfect. This panorama does give a good idea of what a California wind farm looks like...I've never seen so many, so close together. I hear there are bigger farms in West Texas...we'll have to search a couple of them out and take some more pics!

We have quite a few of these in the Netherlands also, but I do not recall seeing so many that close together. This is an impressive sight.

Reminds me of the wind farms at Livermore, California. They have both the propeller type and the bow type, and the latter sure spin fast! The wind turbines in south Sweden are too large and don't give the effect wanted. Yet they continue building them so very big. There's a large farm in the water south of Copenhagen. Those propellers spin fast due to a LOT of wind over the water. Thanks for the photo. Nice to know more of these are being constructed in south California. Keep up the good work. :-)
Hoooollleeeeeee FRAK! That's a LOT of turbines! As far as you can see..... What a shot, Tara! I've seen a few here in the midwest, but nothing that even approaches this! I'd love to see this from the air.... Wonder if anyone would get excited if I flew my Inspire over this....
