Description
Playing with long exposures and holiday lights on San Antonio's famous River Walk.
The main part of the image is a single photograph, and the smaller bit in the top right-hand corner is just a copy of the original image stretched and faded down.
Open the shutter. Wiggle your camera around. Repeat about a million times. SOMEthing is bound to come of it! LOL!

What did Chip call this some time ago...jiggle and shake or something like that? Your results came out really well. My experiments came out all white...then I realized I had only been trying this technique aiming at a large tree covered with all white lights...duh:) Makes me think of outer space for some reason...very cool. Oh...just reread your title...lol.

Tara, LOVE this! When I was TDY to San Antonio, my wife and I went down the riverwalk, but it was during the day. Visited the Alamo, had a GREAT time. She flew out and surprised me for my birthday. Just knowing you and your hubby was there too brings a big smile to me. That was very creative thinking. My instructor at Auburn once said, "Sometimes you will use a thousand shots before you get a money shot." GOOD THING there's digital now. lol

Very cool effects, Tara! This brings back memories of a friend - John Baird - he and I pretty much ran the old KCMPA camera club back in the late 80s and 90s. He loved this kind of thing. He was always finding neon signs, and doing exactly what you describe. He passed away in '99, but every time I see something like this, I think of him.
