Description
...over the dam.
We've been staying at Balmorhea State Park in West Texas for the past two days. The main feature here is a 3.5-million-US-gallon (13,000 m3) freshwater pool built around the San Solomon Springs. The spring has a constant flow of 22 to 28 million US gallons (110,000 m3) a day so no chlorination is required. The water temperature ranges from 72 to 76 F (22 to 24 C) and up to 30 feet (9.1 m) deep.
The photo above is some of the crystal clear artesian spring water flowing over a small weir dam between the pool and a desert wetlands full of birds and other wildlife.

I like this view even better than your original posting ;} Beautiful water and light, and I love the reflection in that curved water!
Thanks Denise. The jagged red line reflection in the water along the top of the dam is of the edge of a red tile roof on a low white building nearby.
An Outstanding Image,
Superb capture my friend. God bless.
A gorgeous capture Bill - it almost looks like a piece of blown glass instead of water.
this is so impressively beautiful Stunning capture
cool pov
The 'pour' of the water is lovely Bill.
Superb! That is a very warm spring, almost hot!
What a gorgeous shot--and wow, what a pool!!!
Beautiful Bill, just like glass.
Water is so amazing and you have caught this splendidly!
Good work. The jagged roof edge really shows the flow rate of the water and that the surface is a bit uneven. Beautiful colors, and ...wow, the foam and splashes at the bottom. I wonder how deep it is below the fall - water usually gouges out a good depth which depends on the fall height and amount of water at the base which the falling water has to pass through. With the temperature you give I feel like hopping in right away! Where I am, it's just above freezing and it's drizzling. Keep up the good work, Bill! :-)
Super shot bud. That water looks so refreshing.
Very impressive and artistic take on this beautiful place. Thanks for sharing. :)
Spectacular photo and pov...
i love the three different aspects here
That is an amazing capture, beautiful!!
This makes me feel giddy just looking at it, the bright blue sky and reflections in the top pool look wonderful, the water does look so clear, I am typing this quickly so I don't fall in !! LOL
What a gorgeous waterfall. Looks absolutely beautiful with the reflections :) So well captured, Bill.
A super POV!! Love the reflections!!
Fine shot, Bill! :)
This is exquisite, Bill - I can almost hear the sound of the water going over that spillway. And just look how clear and clean that water is! I'm amazed it's that warm - seems like spring water is usually more like 50-52F normally. That must be a fascinating place. I've always been fascinated by springs and the aquifers that feed them - where does all that water come from... Amazing..
I think I saw the park on the map but have never been there. the ware is beautiful
Great POV in this fine pic of the multistriated water flow as it pours relentlessly over the dam, Bill, and thanks for the definitive statistics.
A dazzling shot of the water flow. I've taken many photos of flowing water, but have never gotten a result this spectacular...
Very nice capture. I like the reflection in the water very much.
fantastic work
I love the mirror-finish look of the water. Gorgeous shot, hon ... just right!
Wow, beautifully captured Bill. I like the smoothness of the water surface above the weir!
What a great water shot! I've yet to catch a good water in motion one.. But... Give me time.. lol Well caught Bill, and while I'm here, I'd like to wish you both a very Merry Christmas.. Rob
