Description
this was taken with my Nikon d800 and was on large jpeg which will be 7360 x 4912 and around 16mb. a raw would be around 32mb and a tiff around 107mb. I sent it to Richardphotos by email to look at to see the differ in quality. he say he can see more details in the background. now I like him to look at it re size for RR site to see how it will look?
so this is just a test that all. he like this photo I sent him and i thought of this would be a good time to look at some testing. If you wish to look at the big jpeg i would email it to you. all i did here to post was do a little contrasting. not much. guess i should have did nothing to the image but re size it lol. I no scientist.
I be getting back to the dog show next time i post. I got more on Mexico lol
oh i did make it a little bit bigger that what I normal post also.

I'm not into technical stuff but I like the photo.
Fabulous image. Great shot!!
I'm glad you spoke today about the frustration you are having to spend your High Definition shot that is too simplistic to RR. I suffer the same with my pproblème renders of fractals ranging in size from 10 to 30 Mega tgaille with dimensions of 7000x5000 pixels and are on display and for sale on My-Art. Your photo is nevertheless of the utmost quality ...
It looks good to me as is. I like the variety of green hues in this image.
Stunning Quality!
Fantastic capture!!!!!!!!!!
Like the half shadow half light division!
This is a lovely photo Jock and your technical ability is far greater than mine.
I'm thinking it was overcast and there's not much detail to be seen in the sky anyway. You maybe could have cropped out more of the sky, or even all of it. The lower part is interesting!
Swamp Thing Photography = lol
Fantastic capture erland
Your shot is full of detail in the trees and water but the sky looks like its very grey with no detail and I would have cropped most of it out, I try to shoot in camera raw then open in lightroom ( any raw program will do) this gives the best chance to get the most out of a shot. In raw you can adjust colour and exposure also pull out detail in highlight and shadows, watch the histogram it give you an idea of how much detail you are losing ideally you should have it all inside the box , you can adjust contrast over all or just in the mid range and boost or cut colour brightness ( hue and saturation ) or turn it B&W,there are other things to play with but I haven't got time to write a book, when you are happy convert it to JPG or Tiff or some other format, the nice thing is that it is none destructive of the original so if you want to go back to square one just pull up the raw and start again. Try a bit of dodging and burning ,use this very weak and build up as it is easy to overdo when its been converted to JPG you can still do more in photoshop or whatever.
Beautiful place and capture, dear Jock. I like the larger size. Hugs for all day. Di. xx
beautiful shot and param with this nikon
that is a wonderful capture my friend.
Lovely photo, great capture!!!
the details are still there, but not as sharp as the original, however it is a very beautiful landscape Jock
Fantastic capture Jock Since art is subjective, each person will have their own idea(s) of how this image should be presented.. I like this shot as it shows the whole area, including the sky
Nice work on the resizing. wow I am suffering from a bit of camera envy right now LOL enjoy that Nikon
It really is a cool photo Jock, and amazing the original is so big in size.
Great capture.
A very good photograph!
Wonderful capture of this wetlands Jock!! I always shoot in raw as it gives me more options to use in the production of the image.
Well Richard is the right man to ask so you can learn from what he says. Excellent shot! Cathy xoxoxo
I see that you are learning more things that you can do with the new camera.Good results on this fine picture.
I dont know anything about RAW, only that you can adjust saturation and clarity, light and such. But I often use to adjust my photos, even though they are only jpeg pictures. If it is a bit pale or unclear, I try if it works to adjust it, if not, I delete it or use it for play. Maybe some day I will try RAW out. It is a very lovely landscape, you got here. Good luck with your work :)
Size restriction is always an issue as I too create 2 different versions when posting...One to fit the size limits here and then one without to see the difference...Usually the lesser verses the larger is more vibrant/less grainy but when comparing I usually have to strain to see the differences...In agreement with most here as far as cropping out the dull sky....though a few minutes in Photoshop could make that cloudy day disappear....(smiles)..
Superb place and nice capture!
It looks great in zoom Jock! :)
Very beautiful shot !
