Description
This is another of my friend's cats. Luna is an old girl, a mother cat who has sadly outlived all her kittens. She is now part blind but she still chases a string as long as it has a shredded tassle so she can hear it. She gives a great pounce but often misses just by inches as she hits right where the tassle was. She is a lovely old girl with a gentle disposition, yet she forcely pushed me from her spot on the couch every night!
My first venture into HDR, which does have its place for sure. Will post another version of this shot in a few days and more of the jungle deck.
Trying to catch up on your beautiful galleries. Life is very busy at the moment.

Awww...such a pretty 'old girl'...so sad she has out lived her kittens...I hope she can enjoy her final years!! She deserves it!
my cat cleocatra out live three litters, she lived to neary 20 my friend. adorable cat, great shot Roxy.
Wow, look at Luna! She is GORGEOUS! I love the treatments on this image--I MUST ask your secrets--do you create PS actions--if so, I would buy one or two off you, I adore how you showcase your subjects.
She is a Grand Dame Matriarch who shall be obeyed! Wonderful photo and treatment
Beautiful Image,
Alicia: No not done with an action done semi-manually in PS5. Took a RAW image and made it warmer and then increased contrast by making the blacks darker and the brightness lighter. Also increased orange color depth on slider to give her fur more richness. Saved this. Then took the saved image and applied a beautifier filter which softned the image and further increased contrast while smoothing out all the edges. Saved this. Then took the RAW image and the saved beautifier image and went to file/automatic/merge to HDR pro. Selected surrealistic, adjusted gamma and again dialed up shadow depth and added brightness to highlights. That's about it. PS5 does a pretty good job of HDR even if you weren't shooting in that mode and you can even fake HDR with a single exposure like I did here - there are specialty programs that really pump up the volume Photomatrix pro 4 and HDR efex Pro both have trial versions. I will post the beautifier version of her in a few days.
Cool Cat!! Roxy-sensei
Very cute
Terrific textures!
This is a wonderful image Roxy! A grand old dame she is indeed. Of course she must have her place on the couch!! She is the queen! I really like your effects here. Very unique and look excellent on this image of Luna kitty.
Very different, cool cat capture.
Beautiful portrait of a fair lady!:)
Stunning
Wonderful cats and friend for you!!! Have a nice time with the kitties!!!
A very beautiful image. As always I admire your postwork very much. Thanks for the explanation how you achieved this great result.
Very interesting composition, I love the wood-tiles texture and the fur on the cat. The effect is maybe a little too strong but for a first it is excellent. It will be very interesting to see how Roxanne will combine her vast knowledge of Poser with HDR photography in the future.
Very cool postwork. I've played around with HDR a very little bit & haven't had great results, but will keep plugging away at it...
Beautiful feline Roxy, and I like the warmth of your HDR image. Way cool work.
Gorgeous cat! I have five of them inherited from my daughters when they moved out.
Absolument Splendide!
Nice story to introduce this fine feline. She looks great for her age. I like how you put "That's about it." after this long process you went through to get to these beautiful results. I love the contrast and all the work you did to get the effects. It's great to get such a high contrast while maintaining the integrity of the original photo. Nice work.
Very pretty image
What a grand lady she is. Lovely photo and I am glad you shared how you did it too!

That's a really cool shot of this kitty, Roxy. I like the effects on this - and got a good chuckle at the part about Luna forcibly evicting you from her favorite spot ;-D Sounds like you're having a great time!
