Description
My friend is an avid gardener who has a fantastic collection of native plants in a potted jungle on his deck. It has taken years to develop.
Here we see two deadly plants; in front is a group of Pitcher Plants, deadly to insects and behind them with the pink flowers, Bog Rosemary, whose leaves cast off a deadly poisen that can do anything tremendous harm just from breathing them.
More of this amazing deck coming up but next more kitty shots.
Taken from a RAW image and playing with depth of field. I like the vibrant colors against the blue sky and mountains. So wonderful to have aperature control again!

WOW! great capture and effects! and most interesting plants, and how will they fit in with your stories? Hmmmm? I can see Ishtar using the the Bog Rosemary to subdue one of the enemy
I guess those are flowers you don't want to steal! I hope you were zoomed in Roxy. Wonderful dof on this and beautiful colors in this shot. Nice one!
Excellent capture,Roxy!
This garden also has a lovely view in the distance.
WOW! Absolutely BEAUTIFUL capture!
Looks amazing !!!
Ah beautiful! I love the "plant-warriours" :-) If I didn´t have cats I´d consider growing more than my nightshade ladys on my balcony as well. Oh well one thing or the other I guess.
Excellant! Like the blurred background and the brillant focus and on the plants! Well done :)
Beautifully intense and vivid colors... stunning capture!!

Awesome capture Love all the color Even off in the distance... Yep I can see a story with these plants...:) A fav with me......... Hugs Susan~
Very beautiful. I love the mountains in the distance!
excellent
Really nice photo and interesting info on the Bog Rosemary. Sound like a plant one would not want to have around the house. I remember pitcher plants from elementary school along with sundews and of course venus flytraps. Our sixth grade class had some venus flytraps for a little while, but they just didn't survive. Thanks for sharing and nice treatment to the photo.
Your friend is quite the gardener and quite brave with the bog rosemary there. I'm looking forward to seeing more of this deck garden through your camera. I love the DOF effect and it's so nicely framed in the shot.
Great DOF and detail of these beautys!!
Great shot!! Killer plants!!.. :o]
This is so beautifully composed, Roxy! I love those pitcher plants, but I'll definitely pass on sampling the aroma of the bog rosemary...
