Description
Rob has just posted a great photo (and info) of a classic German Messerschmitt Bf 109 HERE. I found this piece of history on display at The Point Cook Airbase I visited the other day. Its the Swastika marking from the tail of a BF 109 that was wrecked in Belgium in the second last year of WW2.

Stunning capture my friend.
Cool capture and great dedication to Rob!
Very nice!
thats an awesome shot of a piece of one of the great war birds of WW2, that war may have been a dark time for the world, but there was some great things to come from it, the fighter planes with there new levels of craftsmanship, design, and function were just a small, yet big part of those days. the BF109 was no exception
Cool find!!
Very nice!
For me? Well, mate! Cheers!!! A great bit of history here.. A great find, And another really clear shot through glass! Well done.. Brilliant shot.. And thanks.. :-) Rob
Interesting piece of history :)
chilling to see that emblem, really interesting shot
Super...like all the distressed metal and weathered paint. Right up Rob's alley:)
What a great souvenir to bring home. Dana
Cool. This is from a late war "tall tail" variant. This is the right side, top being the upper left (the fin cap seam should be parallel with the aircraft longitudinal axis). The "tall tail" has a rectangular cutout for a rudder balance weight, the forward lower corner of which is the smooth radius in the middle of the upper left side.
Pity about the display, should be at 45 degrees. Great dedication! Clive
Great info and cool dedi for Rob...:-)
