Oh blow, Gabriel, blow.
MrsRatbag's alma mater.
Captured 10/24/10, at the 9th Annual Wings Wheels Rotors & Expo, held at the beautiful Joint Forces Training Base (JFTB) in beautiful Los Alamitos, California.
Better viewed full size.
I have more pics of the band, but they are virtually the same as you see in this collage, so this will be the last of the series. For some inexplicable reason, I always get carried away when it comes to bands and musical instruments, and have to control my shutter finger....ditto the Civil War, auto shows, benches, fences, leaves, shadows, people in costume, roses, geese, taillights, variations, ad infinitum.
Adios, muchachos, thankx for stopping by, and for any and all complimentary comments and faves.

I love these shiny horns! I see you've got almost the whole family of Saxophones with the Alto, Tenor and Bari sax, lined up in order. Only thing missing is the soprano sax (Kenny G) and the Bass sax, which I don't think should be strapped to anyone's neck! Nice job. Good to see kids playing like this into their teens. Especially since I start them young, when they don't know which end to blow into! Jodie
Jodie is right..great to see them doing something creative.
These beautiful photographs were not taken these days definitely! That of zest and youth in this mixed band!
I see even the car joined in with its red color. Wonderful silver and brass instruments.
My son used to play a sax and they seemed to be quite hard to do, so I take my hat off to these young players making beautiful music. Yes I can hear them from here. A lovely collage.
Great collage, Harry; I did look in my yearbook, and found a pic of the band in uniform. Wonder what happened to them? Maybe they save them for the football games? Or maybe they don't wear them at all anymore. Guess we'll never know for sure!
very good shot. best getting more photos than not getting less.
Just realized that the best part of the five band collages is that the kids are so clean cut. No weird hair dos, ripped up jeans or body piercings. Just nice looking kids. Dana
I love all those saxophones and the wonderful reflections. Excellent shots! I wonder whether there is any significance of the pink ribbon on one of the saxophones.
It looks like these kids take their music seriously. I love the last pic because of the close-up look at the instruments. The red shirts are terrific, but I feel they should all have similar jeans or slacks on for performing. Great to see them still doing this, though.
Another super collage Harry! But I know the feeling you have about an 'itchy trigger finger'.. I took nearly 1,000 at Hard Rock Hell! So I am with you there! lol That said they do look good.. Also, thats a fine selection of wheels behind them on the top picture! Rob
I hope you do not mind my saying...but I LOVE those cars in the back there Harry...sooo incredibly awesome! Wonderful band shots as well!! How long was this session? Talented group for sure!:-)
These are beautiful...
Wow...am I seeing RED or what? Applause for the series. Like to see youngsters engaged in positive things like this!
lol on your list of things you can't keep your shudder finger away from: You are attracted to sight period---bravo! (Which shows in upload after upload!) I've loved all these band shots, but this one has a real sense of "complete sections," ie, the saxes altogether, the brass altogether (and a very white brass too!), and some flutes, clarinets, etc. I led bands (though more jazz than marching bands), and the sight of these sections all sitting before you poised and ready to go is fairly awesome. But what's amazing here is that they're all standing, and in reds. Standing is common in bands (as are uniforms), but still amazing when you're used to conducting ensembles seated. Don't know how much you know about instruments, but you show an intuitive knowledge of the instrument-groups here (as jodie points out); and, as an end to this series, it's fitting because everything is in formation & every group is seen: Truly affirming montages, Harry. (These musicians must know their numbers by heart, because I don't see any music holders on their instruments; and several musicians are closing their eyes. When you conduct, a lot of closed eyes means either they're deeply immersed in their music---good!---or they'd rather play for a squirrel---NOT good! I've had both, lol. You don't wanna know about the latter...) Wonderful montage & series.
