Description

Just a quick photo tonight, mainly to let everyone know I'm still here, and haven't been abducted by aliens or anything.... Sunday night, my DSL modem bit the big one. I called AT&T's tech support and was on the phone with them for a couple hours while they tried one thing and another. After 2 hours, the tech came to the same conclusion I did about an hour and 59 minutes before - a dead modem. Well, Monday morning I had to go get my left eye lasered to clear up some hazing behind my implant lens - all went perfectly in that aspect, and now I can actually see what the heck I'm doing. After that, I stopped at Best Buy, and picked up one of the modems the AT&T guy reccommended. Hooked everything up, modem worked fine, but now, the modem and my router aren't communicating. Gah! Fiddled with that until time for work. Worked night shift from 2:30PM to 10:30PM, came home, went to bed to get a few hours' sleep before getting up at 6:30AM to go to work at 8:00AM to 5:00PM. Then finally tonight, after 3 hours of configuring, swearing, more configuring, more swearing, still more configuring, calling my router names that would even embarass Rene (LOL), I finally got everything sorted out. Now, all my computers (bless thier little silicon hearts) are happy, my router and DSL modem are best freinds forever, and all is sunny skies, roses, little birds singing, and so on. You get the picture. Sheesh. Anyway....... I took this a few years ago at Powell Gardens (Yes, Bill, you really need to check it out - next time you and Tara are in town we'll make a day of it..), a photographer's paradise just east of Kansas City. This tiger swallowtail co-operated with me by not flying away, and spreading those wings so nicely. Thanks so much for all the wonderful comments, ratings, faves, adding me as a fave artist, in the last few days while I was off-line! Now, I've got some catching up to do! Hope you all have an awesome week!

A winged beauty Rod. I must hand it to you...you make having modem and router problems almost sound like a good thing;-) We'll keep Powell Gardens on our to do list...guess we're pretty close to out of season until next spring. Will be spending time in the middle of October clearing the last ten tons of stuff out of our Leavenworth house and putting it on the market. Cheers my friend...

Oh, my! This really is gorgeous. How did you get this to spread those wings like that? Amazing shot and the background is perfect. Sounds like you have had a great time with technology. I usually just call my IT guy and fix him dinner, buy a 6 pack and wait until he's got it all on-line again. I have no patience for my own blunders. :-)

What a gorgeous shot! The clarity and composition is wonderful. I've never seen a butterfly sitting still when I had a camera in my hand, let alone perched all spread-winged like that. I'm absolutely going to follow you around when we go there! LOL! Shoot ... maybe I'll just hand you my camera, and you can push the button for me too. I don't think they like me very much. :P Glad to hear all is well. I was sort of worried about that alien thing!

You mean you weren't abducted by them thar aliens! well, shoot! if you ever do, make sure that you take your camera with you, okay - cause you'll need to show everyone here if we are even close to what we think they look like. Great picture of the Flutterby 1

routers and modems...can't really do a thing without them these days. I know every once in a while I'll get up in the morning and eithe my router or modem isn't working and I am bummed all day until I get them going... Nice picture. I enjoy photography every now and then. I actually wanted to pursue a career in the fashion photography field, but alas 'twas not meant to be.

BEAUTIFUL picture Rod! Butterflies are tricky to shoot. Every time you get near enough to shoot them they fly a little ways a away. Very annoying. Glad all is sunshine and flowers in your technological paradise once again. I know exactly what you mean about these techs. I have had similar experiences. I'll tell them the whole story as to what has happened and what I have done to attempt to fix it and they will have me go through the entire routine all over again just to have me say "Nope. No change." I've been told they have a list in front of them that they have to follow regardless of what you tell them. Go figure.

great shot... we have a place about 15 minutes from here called the butterfly pavilion.... You walk through a decent size evironment, temp controled to where these butterfly just thrive... you have to move slow in there because they're everywhere around you - google it.

Very pretty Rod! Yes, as Mike said, butterflies are tricky to get a shot of. Mike saw one on vacation and said he was going to try to get a picture of it. In a few minutes I heard him mutter 'jerk!' and he came back to the truck shaking his head. Seems HIS butterfly didn't cooperate, LOL. So glad your electronics are all best friends and cooperating with each other! And glad to hear that your vision is better too!!
