Description
Considered to be one of the most beautiful villages in England. The Castle name is derived, like many in Wiltshire, dates back centuries to ancient Hill forts to protect paths along the Fosse or Ridgeway. Being near my home one of my favourite places to catch the various moods of the seasons.

It isn`t old, but it looks very oldfashioned. A wonderful atmosphere! It seems as if the daily coach will arrive in the next moment; I can hear it on the plastered street...
This is just stunning!! It is hard to believe that this is actually a real place...oh, how I would love to explore the buildings! They must be so historical and gorgeously 'old' inside...how many lives these buildings have seen come and go...how many families have these building housed...it only these walls could talk!! Just a splendid photo!!!
I should say so, it IS beautiful! Your picture seems to have captured it at exactly the perfect time and POV to accentuate that beauty too. Perfect lighting. Lucky you to be so close.
Awesome shot! Really like this :)
I see why you love this place, it's like another world. Marvelous shot. CC
I had the same frist impression as paulbosse... its gorgeous though.. you captured the light beautifully. And I certainly would be exploring there if I could too.. what a delightful place.
Oh, Danny, I can't resist this, longing to be there, to live there, to claim this as my own. Stellar shot and such grand beauty.
Post Card perfect... Aloha
Incredibly beautiful!
Beautiful light in your capture, dear Danny. A truly beautiful work. Hugs. DiDi. xx
This is a superb shot and stands head and shoulders above many pictures taken of this most popular location for photography, Lovely to see, being a Moonraker myself.
Gorgeous textures and light. Breathtaking capture!
xlt composition, colors & lighting
I Just Love this!
It almost looks like a village set in one of J.R.R Tolkien's sagas. Your capture is absolutely fantastic, in every way, Danny!
Wonderful scene, amazing composition congratulations!
Such a beautiful scene. Oh how I would love to see this village.
Enchanting.
Great shot.
Wonderful shot and fantastic place my friend.....!!!!
Spectacular vista and image Danny! I would love to visit there! :)
You must have got there very early in the morning to escape the tourists. The number of times I have a shot of this place lined up and some bloody person walks in the way!
Wonderful lighting to give this a great atmosphere.
Excellent!
very quaint village and it almost looks like a sepia because of the stone masonry color
This outstanding photo image transports me back in time. It is what, in my minds eye, every small English town is supposed to look like:) Fabulous...which is a non-photographic, touristy term meaning I really like this!
